Nick “Nickybagz” Baglio is a professional drummer, educator and studio owner based in North Carolina. Over nearly two decades of playing he has built his reputation on feel: a deep pocket, musical phrasing and steady time that lets the whole band settle in, all in service of the song.
Originally from New York, Nick began his love for music playing piano at age 5, and quickly picked up the drums shortly thereafter. While in NY, he studied with some of the best private instructors Long Island had to offer. During his high school years, he was selected annually for the All State, and All Region Jazz bands. Nick was then rewarded a Full music Performance Scholarship to study drums at the Infamous University Of Miami. While at school, he began his professional career, playing with all the heavy weights in town, and was awarded four downbeat magazine awards.
He divides his time between the stage, the studio and teaching. On the road he plays international and arena tours, festivals, corporate events and club dates, and gives drum clinics and masterclasses. At Poolehaus, his full-service, Pro Tools-ready audio and video studio in North Carolina, he tracks live drums for records, commercials, jingles and film, and records remotely for artists anywhere.
He also teaches students around the world, in person in North Carolina and through goal-focused virtual lessons and custom video material, and his students’ drum covers appear on his NickyBagzz YouTube channel. He plays Pearl drums, Vic Firth sticks and Meinl cymbals, and is also endorsed by Hendrix Drums and Big Fat Snare Drum.
