Playing Grooves Slowly

Lately, during soundchecks, I've been working on some of those main grooves from the college days... like Oakland Stroke, Molasses Run, 777-9311, Squib Cakes. Slowing them down a bit, and trying to groove them out a bit harder. Laid back. (I was so used to just rushing through the coordination aspects with no attention to feel). Anyway, while I am at it, any other ideas for grooves? Have you heard the first track on Tom Scott's "Apple Juice". It's Gadd. A great mozambique/funk pattern.
